Wow! What an amazing day we had with Stomping Grounds at the Riverside forest school site. Our children were enthralled with the activities they engaged in today. From den building, fire lighting, performance play, creative play, whittling sticks for pencils and spears to much more! Forest school has been well established in our site, yet being in a truly woodland environment brings all the more excitement and engagement with it. Myself and Mrs Fraser were proud to see all of our children totally submersed in numerous activities. Some spent hours perfecting their dens or bug hotels, whilst others spent time learning creative skills that they then taught to their peers. Learning in the great outdoors truly has its wonders and benefits that at times are so difficult to achieve in the classroom. We know our children had a great time as they came back to us at the final reflection asking to have another forest school day as soon as possible and bring some elements of this into our own site… looks like Mr Dunnigan has a few more jobs to do! Well done Year 6.
