This week in R.E we have been learning about the festival of light, Diwali. We discovered why it is a festival and why it is celebrated. Reception class listened to the story of Rama and Sita and also watched a short documentary about Diwali.
We then created our own Rangoli patterns using coloured gems . In the play dough area we made ‘Diva lamps’. which we displayed at the front of the class for everyone to see. Using the coloured pens we also created our own Mehndi patterns.
Following on from our R.E lesson this week, at Forest School, we made Diva lamps using air dry clay.
