Interfaith Week in Year 6

This week, we are celebrating Interfaith Week in school. The purpose of this week is to increase children’s awareness of the different and distinct faith communities within the UK, increase children’s understanding of world religions and to strengthen relationships between people of different faiths living in our community. On Monday, we explored different religious artefacts, finding out about some of the important symbols and artefacts belonging to Sikhs, Muslims, Christians and Jewish people. Today, we enjoyed asking questions to a panel of four different religions: Christianity, Sikhism, Islam and Judaism. It was very interesting to find out about the beliefs of people from each religion, and to compare similarities and differences between them.
