Today, the 15th February, is the birthday of our very own Angel of the North. The iconic sculpture is 25 years old and at St Aidan’s we have ensured we have celebrated in style. For the past few weeks we have been preparing for this momentous occasion with local artist Michelle, and she has helped us create a giant sized birthday cake for the angel.
Year 3 and 4 were able to take the cake along with us to the angel and when we got their we were greeted by many people from different people from TV stations and lots of cameras who wanted to celebrate with, speak to and film our wonderful children.
We all sang a happy birthday whilst presenting the angel with it’s cake and then after lots of photograph opportunities we got onboard the double decker bus awaiting us. Onboard we wrote our best wishes on a postcard which we left for the angel.
Lastly, just like any birthday celebration it was finished off with a delicious cupcake. Thank you to everyone who made this occasion memorable for the children and staff.
