Year 1 visit Washington Wetlands

Wow! What a fantastic day we have had spending the, whole day outdoors exploring nature! Our trip led on from a story we listened to in class called Ava the bird girl. Ava is an Osprey who has migrated with her family but gets lost and that’s where the story ended. When we got to WWT we had to complete the story and help Ava understand who she was. In helping Ava we explored the grounds on the morning using a special animal translator to listen to what the other animals were saying about Ava. We then returned to the nest to share the information with Ava and help her FLY!

In the afternoon we explored the grounds further and saw Otters, Flamingos, ducks, geese, swans, ducklings, goslings , river birds and tadpoles. We took time to explore nature looking, listening and smelling trees and wild herbs. We walked for miles and had the most wonderful day!
