Artsmark Award

We are delighted to have been awarded the Artsmark Silver Award from Arts Council England. Children and staff throughout the school have been working hard as well as having lots of fun celebrating the arts in many different ways across the last two years which has been recognised and celebrated with this award.

Arts Council England stated…

‘We are delighted to inform you that your setting has been awarded an Artsmark Silver Award. Congratulations!

Your Statement of Commitment and Statement of Impact have been assessed and we’re pleased to share this feedback from our assessors with you:

‘Engaging with the arts is having tangible results on pupils and staff. Arts and culture feature in school planning, are supported by SLT, governors and extra-curricular activities. Pupils access a consistent and relevant range of experiences in school and on visits outside the classroom which leads to showcasing within school and the local community. You have considered diversity and inclusion within your curriculum. It’s great to hear about your Art Ambassadors and Leading Lights taking the lead within your arts work, alongside projects like Riverside Routes and the Angel of the North anniversary.

You have seen staff confidence grow through free and funded CPD, and through artists modelling practice with pupils.

Congratulations on your Artsmark Silver Award!

Well done to all of the staff, pupils and St Aidan’s community!
