What we’ve been up to this week…

This week in Year 5, the children have worked incredibly hard in each of their lessons.

In Science, we looked at the human cycle. We discussed what happens to our bodies and how we grow and develop as we get older.

In English, we continued our topic of ‘Fairytales’, by writing a description of the wolf from the tale of ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ using expanded noun phrases.

In Geography, we started our topic, ‘The Water Cycle’. We learnt the key terms of the cycle; precipitation, condensation, evaporation, groundwater flow, surface run-off and transpiration. We then drew and labelled the water cycle in our books.

In Art, we are focusing on the artist ‘Claude Monet’. We created collages using different pieces of his artwork such as; The Water Lily Pond.
