The Human Body

Our Science topic this half term is; ‘Animals including Humans’.

Today in their lesson, the children in Year 1 learnt about the human body. At the start of the lesson, the children used an image of a human to identify parts of their body which included; hair, chest, legs and feet. As a class, they then listened to the song; ‘Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes’ singing and pointing to parts of their body that was said in the song. We then moved into the school hall, where a child was chosen to lie in the middle of the class circle and other members of the class had to correctly label parts of their body. After this, the children worked in pairs completing the same activity, taking turns for each role. Their book activity was to draw a picture of the human body and label features.
