Happy New Year!
Year 5 have had a wonderful start to the new year. The children have been incredibly busy the last two days.
In English, they re-capped what they learnt in the previous half term. The children also worked in small groups with an adult to complete a comprehension activity. Over the next few days, the children will be introduced to their new focus book for this half term. The book is called; ‘Shackleton’s Journey’. Over the next few weeks, the children will knowledge they have gained from the story to write formal letters.
In Maths, the children re-capped what they learnt last half term. Some of the skills included; multiplying 2 digit numbers by 2 digit numbers, angles and rounding numbers to the nearest 10.
