On Friday last week, Year 1 visited the Centre for Life in Newcastle.
When the children arrived, they explored the WOW zone, working together, making electricity. They then went into the space station and listened to videos about life on a spaceship, before making their own rockets, creating their own space missions and taking photographs as astronauts.
In the dinosaur area, the children looked at a range of different dinosaurs, they dug up fossil bones and even watched a fossil show. In the light area, the children explored colours, lights and sounds.
After lunch, the class took part in a workshop about fossils. The children made their own salt dough fossils with different objects and used special brushes to find bones of dinosaurs.
