This half term, Year 1 and 2 children have thoroughly enjoyed attending Reading for Pleasure after school club on Thursday evenings. Led by Mrs Fraser, the children have read a selection of picture books together then taken part in some different arts and crafts activities linked to the books. Over the weeks, the children have used oil pastels to recreate illustrations, clay to mould and paint a colony of penguins, made PomPoms using wool and decorated gingerbread man biscuits. As you can see, we had a truly brilliant time nurturing our love of reading from an early age!
