Maths

In maths, we started by reading the story of Simon Sock by Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet. Using our washing line, pegs and assorted socks we began to sort the socks into pairs. Once in pairs we used our fine motor skills to peg the socks onto the washing line.

We have been working hard, matching and sorting lots of different objects such as socks, pasta, buttons, toys and classroom objects. We were amazing at finding pairs and exploring sorting techniques. We have made up our own rules for sorting and we also tried to guess Mrs Stott’s sorting rules, looking carefully to see what was the same about a group of objects. We have then worked very hard to compare amounts, using language such as more and fewer.
