On Saturday it will be Chinese New Year. We have been learning about this celebration in Reception class. We learnt that people clean their houses in preparation to welcome in all of the goodness in the New Year. We created lanterns using red card, we used our cutting and folding skills to make them. We were very eager to make them. Using the coloured sand we wrote Chinese numerals in the red sand, we were very good at this. In the home corner we enjoyed dressing up in some traditional clothing and using some special Chinese objects like chopsticks and little bowls. We have also enjoyed listening to tradition Chinese music each morning.
