Good Friday

This week in our RE lesson, we learnt about Good Friday, following on from our RE lesson last week about Palm Sunday.

We learnt that on the day before Good Friday, Jesus had a last supper with his apostles in Jerusalem, before he died on the cross the following day.

In our chatterbox, we found different crosses and hot cross buns. We learnt that crosses can come in different representations and on a hot cross bun, the cross symbolises Jesus dying on the cross. We were also very excited to have a taste of a hot cross bun! We tried ones with currants inside and others with chocolate. They were so sweet and tasty!

Our RE activity was to represent the cross in any way we liked. We made crosses in the sand, crosses made out of shells and blocks and some of us even created our own craft cross in the Art area.
