On Wednesday 21st February 2024, it was International Mother Language Day. This special celebration aims to raise awareness of language, cultural diversity and multilingualism around the world. St Aidan’s has celebrated this day by taking part in various activities and some language taster sessions. Some children have shown great confidence in standing up to the whole class to speak the language that they use at home. Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and 2 have been involved in learning Italian and learning to count in Japanese. Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 have been involved in learning Spanish and French.
