In Geography this afternoon, we revisited the different needs that people, families and communities have such as employment, education and shelter. We enjoyed a walk to Gateshead town centre to carry out a fieldwork study to investigate how our local area meets the needs of people who live here. We took photographs and made notes on a table to record our thoughts. We also carried out a survey with members of the public to find out why they were visiting Gateshead town centre this afternoon. Whilst some people we surveyed were visiting for education to attend Gateshead College, others were there for their employment or for leisure and entertainment in the many shops, restaurants and Vue cinema. Next week, we will present our findings through tables, maps and graphs and then compare how our local area of Teams and Gateshead Town Centre meet the needs of people who live here.
