St Aidan’s Library

Last week, we were finally able to visit our recently-revamped library which we have been very excited about! Before the summer holidays, Mrs Fraser asked our opinions of the library and although children shared that there was a fantastic range of fiction, non-fiction and poetry available to them with many of their favourite authors and genres, some children commented that they would like the library to be lighter and for there to be more space for them to sit in groups with their friends or as a whole class with their teacher to read or listen to a book.

We have been very busy over the last few weeks reorganising the furniture and books to make the library a more enjoyable and pleasant place to be! The smiles on many children’s faces last week certainly suggests that we have been successful. This week, we look forward to inviting parents of Early Years and KS1 children to join our library sessions at the end of the school day. Mrs Fraser will also be supported by her new pupil librarians to open the library on a Wednesday lunchtime for children to enjoy.
