Chapel

This week, it was Year 5’s turn to visit the chapel for collective worship with Reverend Yvonne and a new member of the church, Reverend Hannah.

First, we sang a hymn to start our worship, before a child from class read a short reading from The Bible. We then bowed our heads listening to two prayers.

Reverend Hannah then referred back to our school quote from The Bible; John 10:10 “I come in order that you have life; life in all its fullness”. She then spoke to us about how lots of little things happen in our daily life that take up a lot of our time and emotions and sometimes we find this hard to take in. This then doesn’t allow us to deal with the other things that are bigger in our lives and we feel as though everything builds on top of each other to where we find it unable to cope and process. She told us to look at our life as a jar. Instead of filling our jar with lots of sand (the small things) then pebbles (the big things), take each small and big obstacle in stages, in order for your ‘half full’ jar to build up with pebbles and sand intertwining, whilst living life to its fullest.

We then took part in receiving communion and blessings, before ending our worship with another hymn.
