The theme for Children’s Mental Health Week this year is ‘Know Yourself, Grow Yourself’.
This afternoon, Year 4 created some fantastic art work based on this theme. The children created their own plant growing on the side of a mountain. They established the plant would have long roots growing beneath the surface. The children thought about their own personal roots; where they live, the people they live with and the values that are important to them.
The children then drew the plant growing from the side of of the mountain. They likened this to themselves continuously growing and developing. They illustrated the plant with images of things that are important to their growth and development as well as some of their hopes and dreams for the future.
