This half term, Year 6 have been learning about the Golden Period of Gustav Klimt. We began by looking at a range of his artwork. When we placed them in chronological order, we noticed that over time, Klimt’s artwork became less realistic and more mythical in style. He also began using a colour palette of different shades and tints of orange and yellow as well as adding gold leaf to his artwork. Inspired by Klimt’s ‘Golden Woman’, we created our own artwork of a mythical figure using different shades and tones of orange and yellow. We imitated the style of Gustav Klimt by adding metallic accents to our painting using metallic card.
