Baptism

On Tuesday, we celebrated the Baptism of seven children. The children, along with their parents, took the decision to be Baptised, to start their journey of faith.

A sign of the cross was made on the children’s foreheads as a symbol of joining the Christian family, they were anointed with Chrism oil, a symbol of receiving the Holy Spirit and they were blessed with holy water as a symbol of starting a new life with Jesus. Finally, the children were each given a Baptism candle. This is a symbol that Jesus, the light of the world is now with the children on their faith journey.

It was a wonderful and special celebration shared with not only their own families but with their St. Aidan’s family too.
