Last week, we enjoyed taking part in the Riverside Routes project 2025. We worked with a local theatre company, artist, author and an actress to create our own original story inspired by the Staithes and the Gateshead quayside so that visitors and local residents using the footpath could be entertained whilst walking. Inspired by our quayside walk on Tuesday afternoon, we created characters and a plot before engaging in drama to retell the main events of our story. Then after hearing the first draft of our story, we provided feedback to the author and created artwork to engage our audience. On Friday afternoon, we recorded an audiobook together as a class, considering what each character would sound like as well as creating some sound effects to add interest to the listener.
