In computing we have been learning about Information Technology and the role it plays at both school, home and the wider world. We have looked at different types of IT including speed cameras, cash points, pedestrian crossings as well as our at home IT including tablets and phones.
Today we learned how useful IT can be especially in supermarkets. We looked at barcodes on products and learned how this unique code works alongside a barcode scanner and a till. We then worked in teams taking on the role of the customer, the scanner and the till. We then discussed how the barcode informs the technology which then generates a price from a computer system and how useful this is for shop workers.
