A visit from the author Nishani Reed

This week, as part of the Northern Children’s Book Festival, our Year 1 and Year 2 pupils had the wonderful opportunity to meet a real author! Nishani Reed, writer of the delightful children’s book No Cheese Please!, joined us to share her story and inspire our young readers.

The book follows Mo, a mouse who is lactose intolerant, on a fun and engaging journey exploring the foods he can and cannot enjoy. Through Mo’s adventures, children learned about food allergies in a way that was engaging and exciting.

During her visit, Nishani read the story aloud. She also led interactive games that helped pupils understand what it means to be allergic to dairy foods, turning an important health topic into a playful and memorable learning experience.

Our pupils had the chance to ask Nishani questions about her book, sparking curiosity about what it means to be an author.
