This half term in literacy, we are reading The Tunnel by Anthony Browne. This week, we have been taking part in a range of listening and speaking activities to help us become familiar with the text. We made predictions about what might be in the tunnel and what could be on the other side. We then used adjectives to describe tunnels based on our own experiences.
Next, we took part in a persuasive activity where we took on the role of Rose. We had to decide whether we would go through the tunnel after her brother or not. We shared our decisions and explained our reasoning. After hearing different arguments, some of our friends even changed their minds and swapped sides!
We also retold the story through drama. Working in small teams we decided our roles and acted out different parts. We have some great actors and actresses in Year 2!
