Last week, Year 4 rolled up their sleeves for a deliciously fun experiment: melting chocolate! We explored how matter can change states by either melting or freezing.
We started by placing white, dark and milk chocolate on the radiators to see which colour chocolate would melt quickest. The class made predictions, observed the changes and discussed if their predictions were correct.
Along the way, we talked about temperature, states of matter, and why white chocolate melts faster than others. Best of all, the experiment showed that science isn’t just something you read about, it’s something you can see, feel, and (sometimes) taste.
