At the start of today’s session, we played a warm up memory game.
We then re-capped our last lesson about stop and go thoughts, whilst looking at what mind readers, dustbin labels and negative glasses are.
We then looked at; The 4 C’s. The children learnt when they notice a stop thought, to ‘catch it’. We then need to ‘check’ what we are thinking (for example, are we mind reading or looking through negative glasses) Before ‘challenging’ out thought, where we turn this thought into a positive one, ‘changing’ it into a more balanced thought. We used examples throughout the activity.
At the end of the session, we took part in an activity where we had to match up a stop thought with a go thought. Some of them included; ‘I can’t draw, I am really rubbish in Art lessons’ and ‘I may not be the most confident person in an Art lesson, however, I do have other skills that I am better at and I just need to practise’.
