‘Think Good, Feel Good’ – Session 5

At the beginning of ‘Think Good, Fell Good’ session 5, the children played a warm up game called, ‘Would you rather?’

The theme of this week’s session was ‘Managing your feelings’. We chatted about how our feelings can become very strong and sometimes they can be hard to control. We then discussed how different people will find different strategies more calming than others. As a group, we discussed what strategies help us in different situations. Some of our answers included; reading a book, listening to music or going on a walk.

We then focused on body tools, thinking tools and feeling tools that we may not have thought about. Some of these included; grounding exercises, pop the worry bubble or crafting to express ourselves. We also drew pictures of what some of our worries look like. Some of us compared them to ‘worry monsters’.

At the end of the session, we focused on a 5 point scale, where we talked about intensities of emotions and how we can cope.
