Year One class had an exciting and immersive visit to Beamish, where we explored what life was like in the past as part of our history topic. The children travelled between different towns on a traditional tram, which was a highlight of the day. They visited a park, cinema, toy shop, and even a police station. Stepping back in time, the children experienced a lesson just as it would have been 100 years ago, using slates and practising handwriting. They also enjoyed playing traditional playground games, bringing history to life.
