This morning, Year 6 visited Durham Cathedral along with other primary schools from across the Diocese of Durham to take part in a leavers’ service of songs, Bible readings and prayer. The children enjoyed taking part in a number of prayer stations around the cathedral in which they reflected on their time in primary school and thought about how they could continue our faith journey in secondary school. Together, the children discussed what they were thankful for in their lives and prayed for support from God to support them with any worries or concerns they may have. The children then created lanterns with an attached torch to represent their light shining brightly as they go on to secondary school facing the many experiences and opportunities that it has to offer.
