In their RE lesson this week, Year 1 have learnt all about Harvest.
They learnt the following:
Harvest is celebrated to give thanks for the crops, which have been safely harvested.
Christians thank God for food to eat.
Christians believe that God made the world and everything in it.
Christians thank God for the variety of food and everything that helps food to grow.
They also watched a short video which showed them a family who live on a farm. The family showed us how they milk cows for dairy produce, how to build a scarecrow in their field, how grain is turned into food and the preparation of harvest meal of chicken pie and vegetables.
