Nursery and Reception have been thinking about why we are special in our RE lessons. We heard the Bible story of The Lost Sheep, also known as The Good Shepherd. Each of the sheep were special to the shepherd and he made sure each one was cared for, even when they were lost. God is like the good shepherd and cares for each of us as we are all special to him. We had fun playing a game of ‘the lost sheep’, where we all worked together to find the lost sheep in our classroom. Afterwards, we thought about why each of us are special, sharing our ideas together. Some of the ideas the children shared were ‘…because I am kind’, ‘…because I help my mammy at home’, ‘…because I am a good at drawing’ and ‘…because I have a lovely smile’.
