Reception class have been working hard to compare, using maths vocabulary ‘big’, ‘small’, ‘heavy’ and ‘light’. We read the story ‘Where’s My Teddy?’ and sorted objects for the big bear and the small bear. We used balance scales to compare the mass of objects. We noticed heavier objects pushed the scale down. We enjoyed measuring a range of different objects and were fantastic at noticing which was heavier and which was lighter and even found some that were the same. We even began to make some predictions.
