After reading the story ‘Oliver’s Vegetables’ , Reception class had fun baking vegetable breadsticks using some of the ingredients from the story that Oliver discovered in his Grandpa’s vegetable patch. The children used of all of their senses to explore the ingredients and enjoyed measuring and mixing. They used ‘pinchy’ fingers to tear herbs and then to roll the breadstick dough. They children enjoyed seeing the dough transform once baked and the best part was, of course, tasting the breadsticks when they were ready!
