This afternoon in their Art lesson, Year 1 continued with their topic ‘Weather’ by focusing on the painting ‘Starry Night’ b6 Vincent Van Gogh.
Last week, the children used different shades of blue paint to create a background night time setting. Today, the children used white and yellow oil pastels to create a moon, stars and wind effect. They then used a dry paintbrush to smudge the pastel to create a more realistic effect. To finish, they used black paint to add a tree blowing in the wind, alongside an imaginary village, just like Van Gogh’s artwork.
