As part of Children’s Mental Health Week, Year 4 enjoyed a special activity focused on celebrating who we are and learning about our feelings. We started by talking about different emotions and how everyone experiences a range of feelings each day. The children then created their own self-portraits and added kind, positive words around their pictures, such as “kind,” “brave,” and “helpful,” to remind themselves of their strengths. We also discussed simple ways to manage big emotions, including taking deep breaths, counting slowly, and talking to someone they trust. It was a lovely session that encouraged confidence, kindness, and open conversations about wellbeing.
