History – Who were the Celts?

In History this half term, Year 3 are answering the question; ‘How did the Romans change Celtic Britain?’

Today in class, the children learnt about what life was like for Celtic people at the end of the Iron Age before the Romans invaded. Some of what the children learnt included: home life, farming territories.

Over the next few weeks, the children will also be looking at why the Romans built Hadrian’s Wall in North England and about Vindolanda, one of Europe’s most significant Roman archaeological sites, located in Northumberland.
