We Going On A Bear Hunt

In maths, children have continued to develop their mathematical vocabulary for positional language. Reception gathered to enjoy the story titled, ‘We Are Going On A Bear Hunt’ by Michael Rosen. Children performed the actions of swishing and swashing like the long, green grass then squelching through the dirty, smelly mud. Children discussed and learnt new vocabulary, such as beside to describe where an object is in relation to another object. Suddenly, the alarming news of a bear hiding at St Aidan made its way down to Reception. The class decided they should go on a bear hunt to find this new member of the St Aidan family. Children travelled under the tables, over wooden planks and through chairs to find the bear. The children were thrilled to find the bear hiding in the library and decided to bring him back to Reception’s reading garden.
