On Tuesday evening, a group of children proudly represented St. Aidan’s Church of England Primary School at the FED in Dunston, where they received an award in recognition of our contribution to the Blazing the Trail project. The school was honoured for its commitment to promoting the Olympic value of Equality, celebrating the efforts made by pupils and staff to ensure everyone is treated fairly, respected, and given equal opportunities to succeed. We are incredibly proud of the children for representing our school so well and for helping to make such a positive impact within our community.
The children were delighted to receive the award from a volleyball Olympic athlete Peter Bakare, who shared an inspiring message about perseverance, resilience, and believing in themselves. He encouraged the children to never give up on their hopes and dreams, reminding them that when something feels difficult, they should say, “I can’t do it… yet.” Peter explained that the word “yet” is a powerful reminder that skills and confidence grow with effort and determination. He inspired everyone to aim high, work hard, and keep believing in themselves, because with dedication and perseverance, dreams really can come true.
Well done to all of our children for their continuous efforts in making sure that everyone is treated fairly, and with respect.
