In their Art lesson today, Year 1 focused on the painting; ‘Toil Today, Dream Tonight’ by Filipino artist; Paul Hilario.
First, the children looked at the painting, pointing out key features such as; the sun, stars and fields. We then spoke about the choice of colours used, referencing to which colour is used for daytime and nighttime in the picture.
The children then created a piece of collage artwork. The children had to fill in the top half of the picture, adding blue tissue paper to act as the sky and yellow and orange tissue paper to act as the sun.
