MFL Year 6

Year 6 have really enjoyed developing their knowledge of regular verbs in Italian and the school subjects/ timetable this term. These two topics have allowed our children to get to grips with core grammar, including verb conjugation, which will be a focus as they move to secondary school next year. In St. Aidans our lessons follow the three fundamental pillars of phonics, vocabulary and grammar. The latter was delved into deeper this term as we learnt how grammar plays such an important role in the words or ‘versions’ of words needed to form grammatically accurate sentences. Our children in Year 6 know how important it is to ensure you have the correct grammar when forming sentences after their work in prior years and when they have spoken to their Italian counter parts. Our second topic, school subjects, has also been great to get stuck into. We have found a number of differences in the names of school subjects along with how to say which time of day you may undertake a subject and who likes/ love/ hates or dislikes certain subject… of course everyone loves Italian! Great work Year 6!
