Year 6 used a range of electrical components to build a complete circuit that successfully lit a bulb, carefully connecting wires, a battery and a bulb holder to ensure the electricity could flow smoothly. They also designed and constructed their own homemade switch, using simple materials to create a break in the circuit that they could open and close. By experimenting with different materials and testing their ideas, they discovered how controlling the circuit allowed them to turn the bulb on and off, demonstrating a clear understanding of how electrical systems work.
