Last week we celebrated Mental Health Awareness week, we learned about anxiety and how it effects many people in society including, celebrities, footballers, teachers, parents and young people. We discussed how anxiety can present in people, both physically and emotionally and the importance of recognising these signs.
We looked at the many ways in which we can help ourselves and others to overcome anxiety. We spoke about going for a walk, spending time outside, reading, relaxing, spending time with Families and friends but most important we agreed the best thing to do is TALK to others about our feelings. and there is no such thing as bad emotions.
In our RSHE lessons we spent time in the outdoor area completing hands on activities and reading stories. Year 6 spent the day at Gibside taking part in lots of different nature activities and Miss Quinn held a coffee and chat morning with parents.
