This morning, Year 4 were lucky enough to be invited along to the allotment to work with Suzanne from the Big Local and some residents from local care homes in our community. When we got there we discussed the health and safety risks around the allotment and planned how to keep ourselves as safe as possible. We were then split into groups and were each given a task to complete. Some of us were in charge of weeding the paths and flower beds, while some of us planted carrots and leeks. A small group of us were chosen to do some planting with residents from a local care home. It was lovely to meet and chat to members of our community. We really enjoyed our morning at the allotment and we look forward to going back again soon.
