Year 2 – Great North Museum

As part of our Science topic ‘Women in Science’, we have been learning about Mary Anning who was a female palaeontologist where she studied about fossils. Year 2 had a lovely day at the Great North Museum. We first split up into groups to explore the Fossils section and we took part in some activities such as examining some fossils and took part in a scavenger hunt where we had to try to win the teacher to find some artefacts that matched the description, for example, ‘Find something that is smooth’. We then even had time to explore different areas of the Museum and found out lots of interesting facts!
