Children became detectives, finding clues that would lead them to our English text. Children found three bowls of different sizes. Next they found three chairs. Then year one found three beds. Year One soon figured out that their key text in English would be ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’.
The next day, children participated in different activities to build their knowledge of the text. Children created back drops and props to role play the story.
Pen in one hand, book in the other. Year One were ready to write. Off they went, writing sentences with adjectives to make their writing more interesting.
