In Art this half term, we have been studying the life and works of the Austrian symbolist painter Gustav Klimt. To make the topic even more interesting, in the middle of learning about Klimt, it was broadcast on national TV that a painting by Klimt that was believed lost for 100 years was found in Vienna. The last time the portrait of Fraulein Lieser was seen in public was in 1925 and the painting is estimated to be worth £42 million when it is put up for auction in April.
As you can see the children have really embraced the style of Klimt. They have used inspiration from his paintings including, swirls, eyes and linear designs with mostly golden tones.
