This morning, Year 5 took part in their first collective worship assembly of the year.
The theme for our assembly was ‘Kindness.’
First, as a whole school, we sang a hymn called ‘Who put the colours in the rainbow?’. We chose this hymn because we as children, a school and community can show kindness all around us throughout our daily lives. One kind word can change someone’s day and put colour into their lives.
The children then shared some kindness quotes, acted out random acts of kindness and made us all think about a time we were kind or someone else was kind to us. We thought about how this made us feel and more importantly, how the other person we helped felt.
Towards the end of our assembly, the children sang a song called ‘If we’ve got a problem, we can work out it’. The song is built around building up each others spirits and helping those in need. They then performed a poem and shared a prayer all about kindness to end our assembly.
You were all brilliant Year 5! Mrs Bullerwell and Miss Greenwell are so incredibly proud of you all.
Always remember; ‘Just like a smile, kindness is infectious.’
