Year 2 Gymnastics

This half term our topic in PE is gymnastics. We have been focusing on basic shapes and balances and performing them individually and with a partner. These skills require a lot of teamwork, patience and resilience in order to be successful. Following this, we have been working on a range of travelling movements including forward, backward and teddy bear rolls. Once we are able to achieve a skill we have focused on ways to improve including extending our legs and stretching our feet.

Over the next few weeks we will be using the gymnastics apparatus to develop our jumping and landing and balancing skills along a beam.
