Yesterday, Year 3 were involved in a workshop all about empathy, organised by Gateshead Libraries. We started off by reading a picture book called ‘The River’ which helped us to understand what empathy means. We were then given different scenarios and were asked to think about how we’d show empathy to each person. We then wrote an ‘empathy postcard’ to a friend or family member and finished by designing our own empathy glasses! It was lovely to hear such kind, considerate and thoughtful ideas from our Year 3 pupils.
